Carbon Footprint

DP Direct maintains a programme to reduce the companies Carbon Footprint and retain ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 accreditations.

ISO 14001 was first published as a standard in 1996 and it specifies the requirements for an organisation’s environmental management system.

It applies to those environmental aspects over which an organisation has control and where it can be expected to have an influence.

In our current location we have printers accessible to us by electric forklift that also carry the ISO 14001 with a Carbon Neutral certification and therefore we can complete your entire requirements in accordance to these accreditations.

The carbon Neutral certification carried by the printers signifies that:

  • CO2 emissions have been independently measured.
  • 100% of emissions have been reduced to net zero through a mix of internal reductions (change of a manufacturing process for example) and best practice external reductions (carbon offsetting).
  • There will be clear communication around the proposition.

The ISO 9001 is a widely respected quality accreditation applying to printing, finishing, direct mailing services, development and implementation of corporate solutions including logistics, MIS and supply chain management.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001  benchmarks both product and service sector organisations against high standards of quality that are recognised and respected throughout the world.

DMA DataSeal Certification

DP are also currently in the final stages of securing the DMA’s new DataSeal Certification, the trade body’s first UK industry standard for data security. The standard was launched in Jan 2011 and entails a thorough analysis, audit and validation process carried out by the BSI.

Within the direct marketing industry information security is critical to the operation and survival of an organisation.  DP was keen to achieve this certification to show its customers how seriously it takes data security.

The standard adopts a control based approach for establishing, operating, monitoring and improving information security.

DMA DataSeal can bring the following benefits:

  • Demonstrate that client data is being protected.
  • Meeting contractual requirements and demonstrating to customers that the security of the info is paramount.
  • Improves information security within organisations and reduce the liklihood of security breeches, data loss and system failure.
  • The regular assessment helps to continually monitor and improve performance.

Sustainable Mail

In addition to the above accreditations DP Direct also comply to the requirements of Royal Mail’s standard in responsible mailing ‘Sustainable Mail’. This has been designed to help increase the use of environmentally friendly materials in mailing, whilst reducing the amount of mail in the waste system.

This initiative helps strenghten DP’s long-term commitment to green credentials as well as increasing the levels of recycling and ensure that their mailings are manufactured in a responsible manner.
